What I learned from the photo assignment last week is best summerized by something I read recently. When a photographer works in a team, he has to be the director. That the finished product shouldn't be a compromise of opinions. That the photographer must be able to get the client, stylist, model all on the same boat so that the photographer gets shots he wants.
On the first day of shooting I came home very displeased. After talking it over with Marcel, I decided that the first half of the shots had to be redone. With the aid of illustrations, I was able to get everyone on my side. Redoing the shots meant that I had to shoot three full crates of products this weekend here in studio, without compensation. But that's okay. I took this assignment because I wanted to learn.
And I have.
