Getting ready - Ravenstein Getting ready - Ravenstein Getting ready - Ravenstein

"I dreamed the other night that the album was going to be tiny and made of oak", R said to me. Yesterday was the day of reckoning. The day that I presented the wedding album to M and R.

I'd been nervous about the meeting all weekend. I mean this was the very thing that made me doubt whether or not I really wanted to take a stab at this type of photography. Perfection is expected. It's been 4-weeks of pure STRESS.

When I unwrapped the album and laid it in front of R and when she flipped to the first page, the tears started to flow. She stopped breathless by every photograph that I felt she should. And when she looked at her husband and said "We should take this on vacation with us." I felt so proud of myself.

Wedding photography is an art and a craft and a business. I spent the earlier part of the year looking at what my "competition" does. I worried myself sick, literally. But, as with any service-oriented job, you have to learn to make it your own.

And I'm getting there.
