"So, I suppose a skinhead didn't answer the door."
I laugh and so does Marcel, "No. There was no skinhead."
I had a session with a couple living in a nearby village for engagment photos. All the contact that I have had with the couple has been through e-mail. This morning while I was getting ready, I realised that there is no photo of me on my portfolio site.
"What if she opens the door and goes 'Eek! A black person.'?" Marcel just looked at me like I was totally crazy.
It seems like such a silly thing to be worried about. But let's face it, we may be living in the 21st Century, but there are still people who have issues with race. I try not to assume that someone will be okay with who I am.
Luckily, my worries were short lived. Harry and Ingrid are a lovely couple and I'm really looking forward to shooting their wedding in September.
